On this week's Giveaway Live, we celebrated moms — and I got to surprise three of you live, mid-scroll, with a full styling session and a little Mother's Day magic.
Before we got into it, I had to share a little news: I just got back from New York, where I won the Legacy Award at the ACE Accessories Awards, in a room with people such incredibly inspiring people. Surreal night. And I couldn't help but tease what's coming next Wednesday — our new Jaguar collection is launching, and after years of only having one Jaguar cuff in the whole lineup, we finally have a full collection: lariats, chunky chain pieces, statement Cuban links, all of it. If you're not on the VIP list yet, get on it before it sells out.
Then it was time for the real reason we were live: Mother's Day. Here's how it worked — once this posted to the feed, we picked two winners from the comments to win a piece, plus one more for the kindest comment about mom. But first, I got to do the fun part live: calling real people, right there on camera, and building them (or someone they love) a stack.
Dawn, from Spokane Valley, Washington was up first — a server who's been in the industry since she was 15, and who spotted my Jaguar necklace sneak peek when I wore it in New York before anyone knew what it was. We built her a stack around the Zodiac Lariat and the Venice necklace, added a pair of hoops, and finished with the Ashley chain necklace. Dawn's mom has passed, and the advice she still carries with her is simple but hits hard: the things you take for granted every day are the things you used to wish for. Her mom's reminder — to actually notice and appreciate what you already have, instead of letting it become background noise — is one Dawn said she comes back to often.
Kristen, a college professor in the Chicago area, used her moment to build a gift for someone else entirely — her best friend of 25 years, Jen. We put together the layered necklace stack, the Venice necklace, and a pair of smaller earrings for the occasion. Kristen's mom's advice to her: be honest, even when it's hard to hear, but always let there be love behind it.
Andrea, from Rhinebeck, New York, joined us after a small tech hiccup — her phone glitched mid-live so she could hear but not interact, and her husband ended up hopping on the call to help sort it out (genuinely sweet). Andrea manages an acupuncture clinic, and we styled her in the Maven Tennis Necklace with its oval stone that has our signature horizon setting, paired with the matching tennis bracelet in beautiful sapphire. When I asked about her mom's best advice, she shared something her mother used to say — "this too shall pass" — a phrase that's taken on new meaning for her since her mom passed away, one she now returns to like a small daily meditation.
Styling Tips From this Giveaway Live
- You can wear jewelry with almost any neckline — just adjust your hair. A turtleneck doesn't rule out a necklace stack; simply wearing your hair back keeps everything visible instead of hidden underneath.
- Pair a necklace stack with smaller earrings, not bigger ones. When your neckline is already doing a lot of work with layered pieces, let your ears stay simple so nothing competes.
- An oval stone reads as a single, elongated statement. The Maven's oval-cut stone gives a tennis necklace a longer, more solitaire-like look compared to an all-round-stone design.
Why We Do This
Giveaway Live exists because some of the best moments happen when you're not performing for a camera — you're just talking. A server from Spokane, a professor from Chicago, a clinic manager from the Hudson Valley: three totally different lives, and in ten minutes each, we got real stories about real moms. That's the whole point. It's not just about the jewelry — it's about making space, live, for someone to be surprised and to talk about someone they love. If a stack of necklaces is the excuse we need to have that conversation, I'll take it every time.
Love you guys. Happy Mother's Day to every mom reading this, and to everyone missing theirs today.
